Description:

This is a DWM Model 1908 military Luger that was used by all Imperial German forces before and during the war. The 1910 dated Lugers are fairly scarce as they had a short production run with most dated military example being 1911-1914. This example has not been modified for the later hold-open device which is very desirable. The chamber area is dated 1910 and it has the DWM markings on the front toggle assembly. The right side of the barrel extension has the correct WWI Crown over script letter acceptance proofs followed by the Imperial Eagle firing proof with the later also found on top of the barrel and left side of the breechblock. The barrel is correctly serial numbered followed by the bore diameter. The front grip strap is unit marked "13.T.L.9.19.". It has the standard fixed sights with standard safe and loaded markings. It has the original walnut checkered grips both numbered "20" on the back sides. It is complete with an original WWI magazine that has the polished steel magazine body and a unmarked wooden base. It has the rust blued finish with the straw colored small parts.

Rating Definition:

Excellent with 97% of the slightly faded original blue finish overall with edge wear present in a couple areas. The smaller parts retain 99% of their restrawed colors overall. The grips are also in very fine condition with a nice matching dark brown color on both sides. Mechanically excellent. This is just a superb example of an early, 1910 dated pre-WWI military Luger.
