This is a outstanding example of a pre-war Mauser Banner commercial Luger pistol that was manufactured in 1936 that was intended for commercial/contract sales inside of Germany or Europe. It has the early rust blued finish with straw colored small parts and checkered walnut grips. The chamber area is dated 1936 and it has the earlier smaller Mauser Banner logo on the front toggle. It is chambered in 9 mm Luger which is scarce as this cartridge was intended for military use. It has the early desirable "Crown/U" commercial proofs stamped on the barrel extension, breechblock and front end of the barrel. It has the Gesichert/Geladen safety and extractor markings. It has the standard military-style serial number placement with the full serial number (3991) stamped on the frame, barrel and barrel extension with the last two digits on the various smaller parts. It is fitted with standard checkered walnut grips that are correctly numbered "91" on the back side of each grip along with a larger "Crown/U" proof mark. It has an all blued unmarked magazine body with an aluminum base that is stamped "3991/V/Eagle 63".

Excellent with 99% of the original blue finish overall with only very minor edge wear on at the muzzle and front tips of the frame rails. The various smaller parts retain 98% of their straw colors overall. The grips are also in excellent with nice original, sharp checkering overall. This excellent original Mauser Banner Commercial Luger has all matching numbers to include the magazine.
