This is an attractive example of a DWM Artillery Luger rig that was manufactured in 1916. The pistol has the distinctive 8 inch barrel with tangent rear sight and stock lug on the grip strap. The pistol has a military blue finish with straw colored locking bolt, safety lever, trigger, ejector and magazine release. The grips are finely checkered walnut. The rear sight features nine position adjustments graduated to 800 meters. The front toggle link is marked with the DWM script monogram and the chamber is dated "1916". The full serial number is located on the front of the frame, barrel extension and underside of the barrel. The partial serial numbers are marked on the small components. The safety and extractor are marked: "GESICHERT" and "GELADEN". The Imperial eagle is marked on the right rear of the barrel and on the right side of the barrel extension with three crown over Gothic letter proofs. It comes with one tin-plated magazine with a matching numbered wooden base. It is complete with an original walnut shoulder stock and non-matching attaching iron. The stock is unproofed and the attaching iron is numbered "6096/e" on top. It is complete with a black reproduction leather top holster strap, shoulder strap and lower attaching iron strap and cover. The holster is stamped on the back side: "A. SCHWALBE/BERLIN/1916" and it includes a double magazine pouch. The holster is complete with an old reproduction cleaning rod and takedown tool.
