This is a very fine example of a early first variation Finnish Lahti L-35 pistol rig. This scarce early pistol comes complete with the original hardwood combination shoulder stock/holster with spare magazine. These pistol had a reputation for being very well manufactured and very reliable during the frigid winter conditions with many captured pistols being used by both the Russians and later on the Germans during WWII. The top of the receiver is marked with Finnish Valmet factory marking of: "VKT" inside a diamond logo over L-35, over the Finnish Army boxed "SA" proof. The left side of the frame, barrel extension and rear of the breech bolt are all correctly stamped "1468". It is fitted with the correct early red molded, checkered plastic grips that also have the "VKT" logo at the top of each grip. This early pistol is accompanied by a rare and desirable early hardwood combination shoulder stock/holster. These are quite rare and few were ever manufactured with some being initially issued during the early days of the Winter War with them later pulled out of service, with the pistols issued with just a standard leather holster. The "SA" marked shoulder stock is made from hardwood (birch) and looks very similar to the Mauser broomhandle type stock wit a hollowed out inside with the hinged flat lid. It has a heavy steel attaching iron on the end with a steel spare magazine pouch screwed on the side of the stock. Is fitted with a detachable leather belt loop, and on the inside of the lid it is fitted with a steel magazine reloading tool. It comes with an original spare "SA" marked magazine.
