This is an excellent example of a 1942 production Mauser Banner commercial contract Luger contract pistol. These were intended to be exported outside of Germany intended for commercial sales to neutral countries. It has the late production "42" dated chamber area with the Mauser Banner logo on the front toggle. It is chambered in 9 mm Luger, and the barrel is only marked with the bore diameter; "8,83" with no serial number. It has a single commercial "eagle/N" proof on the barrel extension and breechblock. It has the standard front and rear sights and is correctly marked "GESICHERT/GELADEN" in the safety and extractor area. It has the standard military-style serial number placement. It is fitted with standard black plastic checkered grips and comes with two type four Army magazines that have the unmarked black plastic base with the pin through the center of the base. The magazine bodies are marked "fxo/Eagle 37/P08". It is complete with black leather Army contract holster marked on the back: "bml/42/Eagle/WaA23" and P08 with a Army proofed take down tool in the holster.
