This is a very nice example of a late WWII German Luger as produced by the Mauser factory in 1940. These were some of the last Lugers produced before they ceased production in 1942. The top of the chamber area is marked "1940" and the rear toggle is marked "42" the wartime code for the Mauser factory. The right side of the barrel extension is stamped with the "eagle/655" Waffenamts and the underside of the barrel is marked with the bore markings and the serial number. It has the standard military serial number placement with the last two digits on each part. The pistol is complete with two late production all blued unmarked magazine bodies with the aluminum base that are both numbered to the pistol with each carrying the same "eagle/655" Waffenamt. The pistol has the late all blued finish with the checkered walnut grips also numbered to the pistol. It is complete with a black leather holster that is marked on the back "ewx/1942/eagle/WaA195". The holster has the correct take down tool inside the small pouch inside the flap.
