Originally manufactured in May of 1945, this M1 Garand rifle was upgraded to a sniper configuration with an August 1952 production M1D barrel. Blade front and peep rear sights, with a combination gas cylinder lock and five-pronged flash hider and "BME" and "NI-C" adjustment drums. Springfield production bolt, trigger housing, hammer, safety and operating rod. The scope is marked "TELESCOPE/M84/SERIAL NO.10530" on the data plate with a sliding sunshield and a rubber eyepiece. The smooth pistol grip stock is marked "P" on the wrist with a "MRT/2-52" brown leather cheekpiece (laced, no screws) and a green canvas sling.
