Description:

Manufactured in 1944. The pistol has the late type three, two-line, small slide marking of: "REMINGTON RAND INC./SYRACUSE N.Y. U.S.A.". The left side of the frame is marked: "FJA" for LTC. Frank J. Atwood the U.S. Army inspector along with a "P" proof below the magazine release button with a corresponding "P" proof on top of the slide. The right side of the frame is marked "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" over "NO 1804403" with "M 1911A1 U.S. ARMY" in front of the take down pin hole and a faint cross-cannon ordnance proof behind the right grip. The pistol is fitted with a serrated slide stop and mainspring housing, a checkered thumb safety and magazine release and a late production narrow hammer with checkered spur and a stamped trigger. The slide has standard fixed sights. It has a WWII High Standard barrel marked "HS" and "P" on the sides of the barrel lug. It is fitted with a set of brown checkered plastic Keyes Fibre grips marked on the back side with the "K" inside a star with a "15" and "16" mold numbers on the inside. It is complete with one blued magazine that has the small letter "L" on the lip.

Rating Definition:

Excellent with 98% plus of the original gray/green parkerized finish. Showing some light high point and edge wear, some small cycling marks, and mild handling marks. The grips are excellent with light handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
