Description:

Manufactured by Springfield Armory in July of 1918. Fitted with a fixed blade front and adjustable rear ladder sights with the dished 9/16 inch windage knob, and 2,850 yard volley notch at the top of the ladder. The barrel is marked "S.A./flaming bomb/7-18" ad features an arsenal blue finish. The receiver has standard markings on the front ring and a dark oil quenched casehardened finish. The stock is an "S" style straight grip with grasping grooves, high hump handguard, two reinforcing bolts, and a smooth buttplate with trapdoor containing the combination oiler/cleaning kit. The only visible markings on the stock are a circled "P" at the wrist and "67" just to the rear of the trigger guard. Includes a W.T. & B.C. marked leather sling, dated "1918".

Rating Definition:

Fine with 40% of the faded original blue and dark casehardened finishes. Showing areas of moderate brown spotting, high point and edge wear, and general handling marks. The wood is also fine with scattered indentations, general handling marks and areas of moderate pitting on the buttplate. Mechanically excellent.
