Manufactured with a post-war Springfield Armory receiver, this unique rifle has been converted to a .22 LR single shot . The rifle features "NM" marked rear sights, and many of the parts are original Springfield GI parts with the drawing numbers. The barrel is marked "DPAG 86 .22LR" and the left side of the receiver is marked "U.S. RIFLE CAL. .22 M1". The floorplate is marked "H.A." over an ordnance bomb over "86". The original Springfield markings and serial number are at the back of the receiver. Mounted on smooth pistol grip stock with a circled "P" at the wrist, sling swivels, and stamped checkered buttplate with trap (trap is decorative, there is no hole in the butt for storage).

Very good as professionally converted and finished with 99% of the blue. Showing some light handling and cycling marks as well as some areas of pitting that have been cleaned and blued over. The custom made stock is a very fine replacement with attractive grain, and rich color. Mechanically excellent. A truly interesting single shot rifle.
