This is an excellent of a very late production DWM Model 1908 German Navy Luger. These were the standard pre-WWI Navy Lugers issued to the Imperial German Navy all the way through WWI and into the Weimar era. This series of Luger has the second pattern (upper) marked safety area with no chamber date and no grip safety. The front toggle has the standard "DWM" monogram and the left side of the barrel extension has the Imperial "Crown" firing proof followed by the double "Crown/M" acceptance proofs. The single Crown firing proof is also stamped on the left rear side of the barrel with the "Crown/M" proof also stamped on the underside of the barrel. It is numbered in the military manner with the full serial number stamped on the major parts and the last two digits (82) correctly stamped on the various small parts. It has the correct sliding Navy type rear sight that is graduated for 100 and 200 meters. This Luger comes with two Navy type magazines; both have the nickel plated magazine bodies and both have the concentric circles on the ends of the wooden bases. The first one has been restamped with serial number "7382" and the other one is unnumbered or proofed. As a side note the DWM model 1908 Navy Luger has a smaller Gesichert marking than 1908 military Luger and it was the first year that DWM used the large "Crown/M" Navy proofs and the larger head on the rear toggle pin.

Excellent with 98% of blue finish overall with only minor edge and high spot wear. The smaller parts retain 90% plus of their straw colors with fading on the trigger and take down lever. The walnut grips are excellent condition with nice sharp checkering with some a couple minor handling marks, on each side. A really nice, high condition, DWM Model 1908 Navy Luger.
