This is an exceptional DWM Model 1908 commercial Luger semi-automatic pistol. Based on the serial number range this example was probably manufactured in 1910/11. It has the blank chamber with the DWM monogram on the front toggle. The left side of the barrel extension and breech block are all stamped with the early Crown "B" and "U" firing/acceptance proofs. The underside of the barrel is also stamped with the same proofs, with an additional "G" proof along with the bore diameter "118,35" over the serial number. It has not been modified for a hold-open device. It is fitted with a set of unnumbered, checkered walnut grips. It is complete with two wood based, nickel magazines, with both bases unnumbered or proofed. Included with the pistol is a unmarked brown leather commercial holster, that has the early style combination, takedown tool and pin-punch, pouch inside the holster flap, with the cleaning rod on the outside next to the magazine pouch; with all three items included. It has the early high polish commercial blue with straw colored smaller parts with the heat blued toggle pin and grip screws.
