This is a nice example of an early 1930 Commercial Broomhandle Mauser pistol rig. These pistols are noted for their very distinctive shape, excellent fit and finish on the metal parts. These model 1930 pistols are identified by the reinforced/stepped barrel, and 12 groove grips. The top of the barrel extension is marked "WAFFENFABRIK/ MAUSER/ OBERNDORF A/N" and the left side has the early Crown over "U" acceptance proof. The right rear frame panel is marked "WAFFENFABRIK MAUSER/ OBERNDORF A. NECKAR / D.R.P.u.A.P." and there is an additional Crown "U" proof on top of the rear of the breech bolt. It has the distinctive 50-1000 meter rear sight with the fixed front post. Complete with the original Walnut Mauser Banner marked combination wooden holster/shoulder stock.
