This is an excellent example of a desirable Astra Model 900, Chinese contract semi-automatic pistol with a combination wooden shoulder stock/holster. The nine hundred series Astra pistols were produced between 1927 and 1941 with approximately 21,000 total produced. This example has the later style three-line frame markings of: "ASTRA" AUTOMATIC PISTOL CAL 7.63/PATENTED JULY, 12. 1928/Unceta y Compania GUERNICA <Spain>" over three Chinese characters. The serial number, "27002", is stamped below the Chinese markings and falls into the noted Chinese contract serial number range. It has the standard Spanish Astra proofs on the right side of the frame along with a single firing proof on the right side of the barrel and barrel extension. It has the standard inverted "v" front sight with the tangent rear sight marked "50-1000". It has the standard 12-groove walnut grips that are numbered "2" on the back side of each grip. It is complete with a very scarce combination walnut shoulder stock/holster. The attaching iron is correctly unnumbered, but the stock is an Astra/Chinese contract shoulder stock as it is serial numbered "27909" inside the lid. The pistol has the rust blued finish with the heat blued small parts.

Excellent with 99% of the original blue finish overall with just a hint of very light edge wear. The grips are also in excellent condition with nice matching dark wood on both sides with just a couple minor handling marks. The walnut stock is also in near excellent condition overall with nice dark walnut color overall with just some minor handling marks on the sides. The hinge and screws show 99% of their blue finish with the attaching iron showing 95% of a thinning blue finish overall. As noted, it is numbered to another pistol on the inside of the lid which is also within the Chinese contract serial number range.
