Mauser Broomhandle Semi-Automatic Pistol with Austria-Hungarian Military Markings and a Stock/Holster

Blade front and tangent rear sights, graduated to 1,000 meters, with the top of the chamber marked "WAFFENFABRIK/MAUSER/OBERNDORF A/N", "Crown/Crown/U" proof on the left, and the serial number on the upper left side flats. The upper right flat has been stamped "W.n (double-headed Austrian eagle) 17" next to an eagle stamp, and the right flat is stamped "HV (Austrian eagle) 36". The back of the pistol frame is marked "FLAMK II/21" between the serial number and stock slot. The exact unit has not been identified, but the markings are consistent with a Mauser purchased by the Austro-Hungarian Empire for military use during World War One and later re-proofed and issued in the inter-war era. Matching numbers are present on the hammer, housing and frame, with a small ring New Safety hammer and niter blue small parts. With a pair of 33-groove hardwood grips and a hardwood shoulder stock with an unnumbered mounting iron, steel reinforcing band around the body and "32" on the comb.

ConditionVery good as arsenal refinished, with 90% of the refurbished dull rust blue, showing bright edge wear, minor scuffing on the underside of the frame, and a few scratches and areas of gray patina overall. Some of the serial numbers appear arsenal restamped, and the magazine floorplate is a replacement. Grips are very good, with some dings and scuffs. The stock is fair as incomplete and crudely repaired with an absent iron latch, mild dents and some scuffs. Mechanically fine.
