Rare and Unique Pinfire Revolver, Configured for Concealment in a Bicycle Handle

Marked "PARIS/A J/ BREVETE" on the side of the frame, the manufacturer of this revolver is unknown, though similar examples have been seen as cane guns, often with a spike dagger threaded to the cylinder pin. Currently the revolver is mated with a modified bicycle handle, with a nickel plated brass socket with gutta percha cover serving as both holster and grip. The revolver itself is without sights, with a loading gate on the right, folding trigger, a pair of spring loaded arms and a protruding screw head for securing the revolver in the handle and a smooth bag shaped horn grip. While not documented, it is known that small double action revolvers were popular items for cyclists for defense against animals and attackers, as they could be fired one-handed while still making a getaway on the bike; this setup may have been made by a mechanically inclined rider using a cane gun they had at hand or built by a gunsmith.

ConditionFine with 60% of the chrome finish, showing some scratches, mild flaking and edge wear. A small screw is absent from the left side of the frame and a dagger may have been professionally removed from the front cylinder pin nut. A few thin age cracks are present on the grip. Mechanically functions fine. The handle is good with the gutta percha loose but intact and some light handling marks and flaking overall.
