Description:

This is a very nice example of a early DWM Model 1900 American Eagle commercial Luger pistol. These pistols were the true first commercial contract Luger pistols produced by DWM and can be found in the 2000-19000 serial number range, with this specific pistol falling about mid-way through the production cycle. This series of Luger was specifically intended for sales in the U.S. It has the American Eagle crest over the chamber area with the standard DWM monogram on the front toggle. This pistol has the various early features, such as the: early long frame, dished toggles with toggle lock on the right side, recessed breechblock, 4 3/4 inch fast tapered barrel, grip safety, no stock lug, straw colored small components and bright polished lower safety area. It is correctly serial numbered in the commercial fashion with the full serial number (10985) stamped on the underside of the barrel and the front of the frame, which is also marked "GERMANY". The various small parts; breech block, toggle assembly, trigger, back side of the side plate and take down lever have the last two digits (85) of the serial number. It is fitted with checkered walnut grips that are numbered "51" on the back side of each grip. It comes with a early nickel plated magazine with the unnumbered wooden base. This wonderful early luger have all hand fitted parts with the early high polish commercial blue finish with the straw colored small parts.

Rating Definition:

Fine as period refinished with 90% of the blue showing only minor edge wear. The various smaller parts retain 50% of their original straw colors. The grips are in fine condition with nice distinct checkering showing only minor handling marks. A very nice looking early, desirable DWM Model 1900 American Eagle Luger
