Manufactured between 1899 and 1911. It is unknown how many Model 1900s were contracted to Russia and very little is known about the Russian contract pistols. These pistols were usually given to high performing graduates of the Imperial Military Academy and can be identified by the crossed rifle marking on the left side of the frame above the grip. Nickel pistols such as this one were likely only given to exceptional or outstanding graduates. The left side of the slide is marked "FABRIQUE- NATIONALE-HERSTAL-LIEGE (BROWNING'S PATENT)" and the left side of the frame, above the trigger, is marked with a pistol and FN logo in an oval over "BREVETTE S.G.D.G.". Below the crossed rifles is the number "4316" and there are three Belgian proofmarks on the left side of the frame, slide, and rear sight base, with the matching serial number on the right side of the frame, slide and rear sight base. There is a cocking indicator mounted in the front of the rear sighting groove. Blade front sight, nickel finish with blue trigger and safety lever, nickel FN marked magazine, lanyard ring on the left heel, and fitted with checkered hard rubber grips with the "FN" monogram at the top. Includes a brown leather Albrecht Kind holster with the early style crossed rifles over "AK" on the closure strap, and the name "Lothar Franke" marked on the inside of the flap in ink. No information is available on the name. The holster includes an extra magazine.

Very fine with 90% plus original nickel finish. Displaying general handling marks, some small nicks and dings, light edge wear, and slight frosting of the nickel. The grips are very good with well defined checkering, handling marks, and some chips on the right panel. Mechanically excellent. The holster is fine with mild scuffs throughout, tight stitching, and a small hole in the magazine pouch.
