Description:

This early 20th century rifle has a blade front sight with slipped on extension, a notch rear sight with a folding leaf, and double set triggers. The top of the barrel is textured and silver inlaid with "E. STEIGLEDER. BERLIN." The upper tang has a sliding safety and is marked "D.G.R.M./ ?B." There are German crown proofs on the right side of the action and bottom of the barrel. The bottom of the barrel also has "37/H.S.8" and "108,49." A "T" is marked on several components. The action is engraved with intricate Germanic leaf and punch dot engraving patterns as well as a dog on the right and a chamois on the left. The tail of the forearm and the stock wrist are checkered, and the buttplate is smooth aside from the engraving on the heel. There is a cheek rest on the left side and sling swivels on the bottom of the barrel and butt. Twenty Gecado 9.3x72 casings are included in a plastic case.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. 95% of the original blue finish and 75% case colors remain mixed with brown patina. The lever retains more than half of the original blue. There is some light spotting and scattered minor marks. The wood is also very fine with crisp checkering and scattered light scratches and pressure marks. The action and set triggers function fine, and the markings and engraving are crisp.
