World War I U.S. Colt Model 1911 Semi-Automatic Pistol

Manufactured in late 1918. The left side of the slide is marked with the two-line/two-block 1897-1913 patent dates and address with the Rampant Colt behind the serrations. The left side of the frame is marked "UNITED STATES PROPERTY", the serial number is marked on the right side of the frame and "MODEL OF 1911.U.S.ARMY" is marked on the right side of the slide. The left side of the frame is marked with the "JMG" inspection mark of Major John M. Gibert. The rear of the slide is marked with the letter "H" above the firing pin. Fixed low profile sights, lanyard ring on the heel, unmarked two-tone magazine and fitted with checkered walnut grips with diamond pattern around the screws.

ConditionVery fine. The pistol retains 85% plus original blue finish with some noticeable areas of discoloration visible on both sides of the slide, mild thinning on the front strap, some edge wear and some light spotting on the back strap. The grips are also very fine with some moderate bruising on the lower right panel, some normal handling wear and crisp checkering. The markings are crisp and clear. Mechanically excellent.
