Manufactured in October, 1942 and fitted with a Springfield barrel dated to September, 1942. This rifle features a standard fixed blade front and adjustable rear peep sights with a locking bar on the windage drum and "BATTLE RANGE" marking on the elevation drum. The front sight still retains the protective retaining screw cap. The operating rod, trigger group, hammer, and safety are all "SA" marked with their corresponding drawing numbers. Fitted with an oil finished stock and handguard set with a boxed "S.A./EMcF" cartouche and crossed cannons stamp on the left side above the trigger, circled "P" mark on the inside of the grip and a stamped checkered steel buttplate with trap. Includes a Boyt leather sling dated "42".
