Description:

Only about 3,500 of these were made from 1880-1911. Named for a well known pistol shooter of the era, and enjoyed a great deal of popularity during its production. Marked with the later two-line "J. STEVENS A&T" address/patent on the upper left flat of the barrel. The barrel is blued; the frame, trigger guard and buttcap are nickel plated; and the trigger, hammer, and rear sight are niter blue. The grips are finely checkered.

Rating Definition:

Very fine with 90% of the blue finish on the barrel. Strong nitre blue on the trigger and hammer and 95% of the original nickel on the frame. The barrel shows some slight edge wear near the muzzle as well as some light spotting. The sight elevation screw is missing. The frame shows small handling marks, light scratches, and a few small dings near the butt. The grips are very fine with light handling marks and well defined checkering.
