Thomas Bland & Sons Bolt Action Takedown Rifle with Scope and Factory Letter

The included factory letter confirms the serial number, caliber, stock length and date of delivery to a Mr. Robson on August 18, 1905. Manufactured on a Mauser pattern receiver with a raised beaded blade front and fixed rear notch sights. The top of the barrel is marked "THOMAS BLAND & SONS. 2 KING WILLIAM STREET. STRAND. LONDON" just forward of the rear sight and "WINNERS OF THE/1885/AMERICAN RIFLE TRIALS" between the rear sight and breech. The receiver is fitted with a left side mounted scope base and a Carl Zeiss prismatic scope. The mounting arm attached to the scope is marked with the three-line Thomas Bland "2 KING WILLIAM STREET" address and features a vibrant casehardened finish. The turned down and knurled bolt handle features Belgian proofs on the top flat. Mounted on a nicely figured multi-point checkered forearm and straight grip stock with a silver initial shield, sling swivel eye, and a solid rubber recoil pad. Includes a leather bound takedown case with a brown interior and a box containing 12 rounds of Kynoch .375/303 ammunition, also known as the 303 Westley Richards, not to be confused with 303 British.

ConditionFine as refinished with 80% of the blue. Showing areas of light edge wear, handling marks, minor dings under the blue on the barrel, and some markings buffed light. The receiver has taken on a mostly brown patina with some thinning. The scope has 90% of the original black enamel finish with some edge wear, light scuffs, and clear optics. The wood is very fine with attractive grain, rich color, and general handling marks. Mechanically very good. The case is very good with general storage and handling wear. Ammunition box is fair.
