This stripped receiver was manufactured circa 1970/80s when they were being produced by the Auto-Ordnance Corp. in West Hurley, NY, based on the original wartime version of the Thompson M1 SMG using new manufacturing steel and techniques. The receiver has the following markings of: "THOMPSON SUBMACHINE GUN/CALIBER 45 M1/NO. M587A". The right side is marked: "AUTO ORDNANCE CORPORATION/WEST HURLEY, NEW YORK, U.S.A.". As noted this lot is only for the "bare stripped" receiver. It is rare to find one of these full auto, receivers still for sale on the market, and it would be easy to buy a surplus part sets and assemble it into a complete full auto weapon.

Very fine as incomplete with 95% of the blued finish still remaining overall, wear on the edges and high spots, and several area of visible rust on the top and sides of the receiver from moisture laden storage. The markings are clear and distinct. As noted, this is a completely bare, stripped Thompson M1 receiver only. NOTE: This weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA), Class 3, Fully Automatic Weapon registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) under the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 478.
