Description:

The accompanying factory letter lists this revolver with an 8 inch barrel, nickel finish, and smooth walnut grips when it "was probably sold on May 10, 1873, and delivered to M.W. Robinson Co., New York City, NY." The current checkered grips were likely added by the M.W. Robinson Co. in New York City when this gun was new. Matching assembly numbers on the grip frame, cylinder, barrel, and barrel latch.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, retaining 95% original nickel finish with flaking on the balance. Visible original case colors remain on the hammer and trigger guard. The grips are fine with a repaired chip near the bottom (left panel), typical age cracking mostly on the bottoms, and crisp checkering overall. Mechanically excellent. A really great original nickel 2nd Model American.
