Description:

This is an exceptional example of a WWII Inland M1A1 Paratrooper Carbine that was manufactured in April 1943. It has the standard front and rear Inland Div. receiver markings. The barrel is stamped "INLAND MFG. DIV./GENERAL MOTORS/4-43". It has the standard front sight stamped with "N" with an "S" on the side of the rear, two position flip rear sight. It has the various early parts such as the flat bolt, type two barrel band without the bayonet lug, unmarked push button safety and the unmarked magazine catch release button. The carbine is fitted with an walnut high wood M1A1 paratrooper folding stock with the correct, early two rivet handguard. The wire stock has the original leather cheekpiece with the correct casting marks on the buttplate. The underside of the pistol grip shows a small Ordnance cross-cannon cartouche with a deep, heavy capital "H" carved into to the wood. The rear of the pistol grip is stamped with a single circled "P" proof. It is complete with an original WWII light tan web sling and one blued "IS" marked magazine.

Rating Definition:

Excellent with 90% plus of the original parkerized finish overall with edge and high spot wear with wear on top of the (correct original blued) bolt and right side of the receiver from cycling and light firing. The stock and handguard are both in very fine condition with a nice light honey colored oil finish with only light handling marks on the sides of the pistol grip and left side of the stock where the folding wire stock hits, with a heavier divot on the underside of the forend. The leather cheekpiece is dark but complete.
