This is an exceptional example of an early production U.S. Remington Arms Model 1903A4 Sniper Rifle that was manufactured in the first block of serial numbers, circa 1943. These were the standard WWII sniper as used by the Army throughout WWII, then again in Korea and even in Vietnam. The receiver is correctly marked "U.S./REMINGTON/MODEL 03-A3" and serial number "3419781", with the top of the barrel marked "RA/Ordnance Bomb/8-43". It has a WWII Redfield style square end scope base that is complete with the military configuration Weaver M73B1 sniper scope. The scope has the standard crosshair reticle and is marked "TELESCOPE M73B1/PATS. PEND./W.R. WEAVER CO./EL. PASO TX." The right side is stamped "TELESCOPE No." with the serial number "23732" etched below the nomenclature plate. The rifle has a stamped, all blued, late production larger trigger guard, blued barrel bands with an original blued sniper rifle bolt assembly. The bolt is stamped with a small "R" on the underside of the bolt handle. It is fitted with a correct early style "C" stock that has been restamped on the left side with an appropriate "RA/Ordnance crossed-cannon cartouche/FJA" inspector marks and the small sub-inspector proofs in front of the trigger guard. There is a "Z" stamped over circled "P" proof on the inside of the pistol grip. It comes with a new commercial leather sling and a set of leather lens caps.

Excellent with 98% of the combination blued/parkerized finish overall showing only minor edge wear. The other components all retain 98% of their blued metal finishes. The stock and handguard are both in excellent condition showing only minor handling marks. The Weaver scope is also in excellent condition with 98% of its blued finish with clear sharp optics. A very nice looking early US Army contract Remington Arms M1903A4 sniper rifle.
