Manufactured concurrently with the M1, Winchester would produce carbine receivers with the model number left unstamped and strike them with the "1" or "2" as appropriate later in production depending on their needs. Blade front and "HI" adjustable rear sight, with an undated "W" barrel, "AI" Type III barrel band, round bolt, milled trigger guard, "SS" safety switch, and an unmarked M2 magazine catch. The selector hardware is installed, with the "A" marked selector switch on the left side of the receiver near the chamber. Fitted with a "perch belly" low wood M2 stock with a four-rivet handguard, green canvas sling and a checkered steel buttplate.
Very fine, with 90% plus arsenal parkerized finish, showing some light edge war and handling marks overall. The stock is fine, with some light dings, scratches and white spots. Mechanically fine. NOTE: This item is restricted as a National Firearms Act (NFA), Fully Automatic Weapon that is currently registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco Firearms and Explosives (BATFE) that is classified as a "Curios or Relic" as defined in 27 CFR, 478.11. These weapons are still subject to the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 478.
