Description:

Manufactured in 1914. Blade front and flat top notch rear sights, the two-line/two-block address and patent dates on the left side of the slide ahead of the Rampant Colt, the Army nomenclature on the reverse, and a United States Property marked frame with "WGP" on the left side. Fitted with a long smooth trigger, wide checkered hammer, short grip safety, smooth mainspring housing, checkered grips, an unmarked two-tone pinned base magazine, and a "PH" marked barrel. With a brown leather holster marked "S&R CO./1917/L.N.O." on the back and "C.Corson" written on the back and interior. Photocopies of documents (originals not included) for a Charles Corson, a lieutenant with the Veterinary Corps, are included; Lt. Corson spent just over a year abroad (May 1918-July 1919), with service during the Battle of Saint-Mihiel and the Meuse-Argonne Offensive.

Rating Definition:

Fine, with 60% of the original blue finish, showing areas of gray patina, bright edge wear, and scattered spotting and handling marks. The grips are very good, with bottom edge wear, some mild dents, and flat spots. The holster is fine, with some scuffing and verdigris. Mechanically excellent.
