Description:

Developed in the 1960s, the NSP-2 is a Generation Zero night vision device, working on "active infra-red" principles like the WWII U.S. M2 "sniper scope". Dated "1965" and numbered "N8369", the unit is fitted with a filtered halogen lamp, which serves as the infra red emitter, positioned above a cathode tube receiver/display unit, which serves as the 'sight' used by the operator and is fitted with integral windage and elevation knobs, as well as a . Overall markings are cyrillic, including a range chart for use with the AK rifle and RPD machine gun, with a standard Soviet-style rail clamp mount at the base and a power switch fitted with a glow-in-the-dark tip (contents unknown, but still good). Included with the scope is a matching numbered green-painted case, matching numbered alloy battery carrier (battery not included), a plastic parts carrier, two spare capacitor tubes, two spare lamps, additional small spare parts, and a Cyrillic-printed log book.

Rating Definition:

Very fine overall, with mild external wear and handling. The optics and illuminator are both untested.
