Rare Documented German Mauser Factory HSc Cutaway Pistol

This is a very rare example of a Mauser production cutaway HSc pistol. This specific example is actually pictured on page 29 in the book "The Mauser HSc Pistol" by Burnham and Theodore. It has been extensively cut away on both sides of the pistol, probably as an early factory instruction pistol, or as an in-house engineering model. The cutaway areas completely show all the internal workings of the pistol to include the very front frame section, which is very unusual as all it shows is the lower front frame extension area. It did not have a left grip panel as those area are also completely cutaway to show the inter workings, i.e. the magazine catch and slide release area and the hammer spring area inside the rear area of the frame. The right side shows the sear and disconnector area as well as the rotating safety/firing pin block. The top area of the slide shows where the firing pin and extractor/extractor spring are located, as well as the chamber area and down the entire length of the barrel. The complete pistol is devoid of any factory markings, proof marks, or serial number. It clearly was not intended as a field example as there are too many cutaway areas on the pistol. Most of the metal surface are in the white, to include the magazine. A very scarce and probably one of a kind early cutaway Mauser HSc pistol.

ConditionExcellent as correct factory "in the white" finish. The right grip is in very fine condition with visible checkering on the side with some light handling marks. A very scarce example of a rare factory cutaway HSc Mauser semi-automatic pistol.
