Manufactured from 1969 to 1983. Features fixed serrated ramp front and fully adjustable rear target sights, checkered target hammer, smooth wide target trigger and checkered walnut wraparound grips with gold plated rampant Colt medallion inlays on both sides. The gun is nickel plated with only the sights, hammer and trigger having been blued. The cylinder latch features a unique and perfectly conditioned plum brown finish. The right side of the barrel is marked with the standard Colt one-line address, the left side is marked " TROOPER MK III/* .357 MAGNUM CTG..*, and the Rampant Colt is stamped on the left rear of the frame. The factory letter states the guns provenance as "...a sample and display piece kept by the Colt factory." Complete with orange warning hanging tag and maroon Colt Heritage factory box with "Colt Custom Gun Shop" end label numbered to the gun and original factory letter.

Excellent, 99% original finish, with a slight drag line on the cylinder. The grips are also similarly conditioned with only a few minor nicks (mainly concentrated on the end of the butt). The bore is excellent, but needs cleaned. The box is in very good condition with typical minor edge and flap wear. An excellent all-around revolver with great provenance for the collector.
