The barrel flats are marked with only the serial number "248" and the early Lindner maker's mark of "crown/crossed pistols". No other proofs are present on the water table. The receiver has full coverage fine floral and scroll engraving with "CHARLES DALY" banners on the sides and highly detailed animal scenes of a retriever dog, two deer, and a flock of birds on the underside and trigger guard. With dual triggers and automatic sliding tang safety. Checkered splinter forearm with engraved fittings, horn tip insert, and pistol grip stock with silver initial oval and checkered horn buttplate. Barrel and stock measurements are: bore diameter at 9 inches from breech .776/.760 inch; wall thickness at 9 inches from breech .073/.078 inch; drop at comb 1 3/4 inches; drop at heel 3 inches; length of pull 14 1/2 inches; excellent chime.

Fine. The barrels have an overall mottled gray/brown patina with light Damascus pattern, areas of dark spotting, edge wear, and small scratches throughout. The receiver has an overall gray patina with traces of original case colors in the protected areas, highly detailed engraving, and some light spotting. The wood is fine as restored with crisp, freshened checkering, attractive figure, and some small dings. Mechanically excellent.
