Shipped in September of 1955 as stated in the included factory letter. With narrow base textured ramp front and Micro adjustable rear notch sights, correct early style flat top frame, type 2 ejector rod housing, type 1 serrated head ejector rod, serrated blue hammer with polished sides, and aluminum alloy grip frame. The grips frame is black anodized, and the remaining components are blue. The frame has the distinctive plum/red coloration found on early production Ruger revolvers. This coloration was so common in fact, that for a time Ruger would issue a disclaimer regarding the color in the boxes for new shipped revolvers. With stag grips with nickel and black Ruger medallions. With unnumbered factory box and papers.

Excellent overall. 97% plus original blue finish remains with some light muzzle, high point and edge wear, and surface scratches, and dings on the grip frame. The factory stag grips are slightly undersized with light handling marks, and small gaps visible at the shoulders of either panel. Mechanically excellent. Box is very good with corner and edge wear.
