Single bead sight on the smooth rib, marked "JOH. BASLER PILSEN" with a flourish of light scroll engraving inlaid with gold, gold wire inlaid bands around the breech, 2 1/2 inch chambers, single extractor, and modified/improved modified chokes. The receiver and locks feature very fine game scenes of hunting dogs and rabbits on the right and roe deer and partridge on the left. The balance including the sculpted hammers, trigger guard, and lever is covered in fine Germanic floral scroll engraving the geometric patterns and contrasting gold inlaid flourishes. The stock and forend are carved with detailed vine scroll with engraved fittings, carved horn grip extension, raised cheekpiece, and lightly engraved iron buttplate. The barrel and stock measurements are: bore diameter at 9 inches from breech .711/.714 inch; minimum wall thickness .034/.033 inch; drop at comb 1 3/4 inches; drop at heel 2 5/8 inches; length of pull 14 1/4 inches.

Fine. The barrels have an overall brown patina with visible Damascus pattern, small nicks and dings, and some scattered light pitting. The balance of the metal is a gray patina with areas of some light spotting and oxidation, fine, detailed engraving, and small dings and scratches. The wood is fine with numerous small dings and dents, light chipping around the lock tails, tangs, and sides of the forearm, and slightly undersized to the buttplate. Mechanically very good.
