Description:

Robert Johnson manufactured 5,000 "Common Rifles" c. 1821-1823. This example has the standard markings and features, "55" on top of the barrel bands, and "125" carved on the left stock flat.

Rating Definition:

Fair as reconverted to flintlock configuration using reproduction parts with light gray patina along most of the iron, extensive filing visible at the breech and tang, mild pitting, aged patina on the brass, and general scratches, dents, and chips along the stock. Mechanically fine.
