Description:

The included letter from Savage, Stevens, and A.H. Fox Arms Historian J.T. Callahan, while being for a different Sterlingworth Wildfowl shotgun, does list this gun by serial number as one of several listed as Wildfowl models, he goes on to state that while the record card for serial number 134130 is undated, it is unlikely to have shipped before 1945. Single bead sight on the matte concave rib markings on the barrels, 3 inch chambers with ejectors, and full/improved modified chokes. Standard light zig zag border engraving on the receiver with "STERLINGWORTH" marked on the sides, dual triggers, and sliding tang safety. Checkered beavertail forearm and pistol grip stock with hard rubber grip cap and solid rubber recoil pad. Barrel and stock measurements are: bore diameter at 9 inches from breech .728/.728 inch; minimum wall thickness .046/.046 inch; drop at comb 1 5/8 inches; drop at heel 2 3/4 inches; length of pull 14 1/4 inches.

Rating Definition:

Fine. 75% original blue finish remains with some forearm wear, light spotting, high point wear and areas of a mottled brown/gray patina. The solder is slightly loose at the right muzzle. The receiver has 75% original case colors with some edge wear, light spotting, refinished trigger guard, and handling marks overall. The replacement wood is fine with a repaired crack on the underside of the forearm, sharp freshened checkering, small dings throughout, and added recoil pad. Mechanically very good.
