The left side of the receiver is marked "U.S./1894 SPRINGFIELD ARMORY" and the serial number. Standard raised blade front sight and 1896 pattern adjustable ladder rear sight graduated to "18" on the ladder and marked "6", "4", "5" and "6" (partially obscured by handguard) on the left side of the base.
