Developed in the early 1900s, the Luger Carbine was conceived as a compact and agile lightweight sporting rifle. The heart of the weapon is an enlarged Luger pistol, with a steel hanger integrated into the front of the frame to serve as a mount for a spring accelerator equipped forearm, which in turn helps properly cycle the extended barrel, and a 1908-style stock lug on the back strap. Fitted with ramped polished bead front sight and 4-position sliding notch rear sight on the barrel. The blank chamber is proofed "crown/B/crown/U" on the left side, with a recessed flat top bolt, "DWM" marked front toggle, and a set of lock-equipped dished toggles. The small parts are finished in straw, with niter blue pins and springs, checkered grips and a nickel finished magazine with an unmarked hardwood base. Included with the pistol is a checkered Schnabel tip forearm and a straight wrist stock, both with sling swivels and the latter numbered "789" on the mounting iron and fitted with a serrated horn buttplate. All mentioned parts of the lot fit into the included "Huey" brand custom case, with a leather bound hardwood body, leather "DWM" style tag inside the lid, and a green suede lined French-cut interior

Very fine, with 85% plus of the original blue finish, showing professional restored finish on the grip straps, mild edge wear and light handling marks overall. Over 70% of the straw colors are present on the small parts, with some smooth fading on the edges and contact points. All of the wood furniture is in very fine condition, with some light pressure dents overall and some small voids in the buttplate. The case is excellent, with a few scuffs on the exterior. Mechanically excellent.
