This is an excellent, early "S" code Krieghoff P.08 Luger pistol manufactured in 1935. The pistol has the early features such as the "H/K" markings on each side of the anchor with only the word "SUHL" marked below. The bottom of the anchor is symmetrical with the anchor tips which nearly touch the outer edge of the "H" and "K" letters. The word "SUHL" is slightly slanted to the right with a flat bottom on the letter "U". The full serial number "3186" is stamped on the front of the frame and left side of the barrel extension, and the last two digits "86" are on the side plate, front and rear toggle assembly, trigger and takedown lever. The right side of the barrel extension is marked with the early "LWaA" 1st-Stage Luftwaffe acceptance proof followed by the Luftwaffe test proof and small "Eagle/2" proof. The underside of the barrel is marked with the bore diameter and the early "Eagle/2" acceptance proof with no serial number, which is correct. The pistol is fitted with replacement Ritzmann fine checkered brown plastic grips with a wide smooth edge. They are correctly unnumbered, however, both have the correct intertwined Ritzmann factory mold marks along with the mold number "8964" on each side. It comes with a nickel plate magazine with a replacement aluminum base stamped with serial number "980" and the upside down "Eagle/2" Krieghoff proof over the serial number.

Fine with 70% plus of the original blue finish overall, edge and high spot wear overall, light blue loss on the side plate and front frame rails, and thinning on the grip straps and both sides of the barrel (cold blue is also visible in this area). The smaller parts retain 40% of their straw colors mostly in the protected areas. The later production replacement plastic grips are in fine condition overall with nice distinct checkering showing only minor handling marks. Mechanically fine.
