Description:

Originally conceived as one half of the great wonder weapon of the First World War, the 1903 Mark I was both a functional bolt action rifle and host to the Pedersen Device, being either a full power rifle or a pistol caliber assault carbine as needed. Most of the Mark Is were stripped of their distinctive components when the Pedersen Device was scrapped, but this one still retains the correct Mark I particular sear assembly and cutoff switch. Blade and ladder sights, with a "SA/10-19" barrel, "C4" and "4" marked bolt, and the signature ejector port and cutoff lever on the left side of the frame. Smooth correct straight wrist stock with "P" on the wrist, "W.J.S." on the left side, ejection port cut on left side, and a flat steel buttplate with a nickel-finished oiler in the trap.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, with 85% plus of the correct original blue/black arsenal finish, showing bright wear on the front sight base and high edges, areas of brown patina, and scattered handling marks. The stock is also very fine, with some light scratches and dents. Mechanically excellent. The example is the one you need to fit to your rare Pedersen Device!
