The pistol has the correct short checkered hammer, short trigger with knurled face and checkered mainspring housing with no lanyard loop. The serial number, "SM 1982", is roll-stamped on the right side of the frame behind the slide stop hole. The left side of the trigger guard bow is stamped with a "T" assembler's mark above the Colt Triangle "VP" proofmark. The Ordnance final inspection mark consisting of the initials "R.S." (Col.
