Description:

Blade and notch sights, with "ENGLAND", ""WG" ARMY MODEL" and "455/476" on the left side of the barrel, "ARMY & NAVY C.S.L." on the rib, the "winged bullet" logo next to "WEBLEY/PATENTS" on the left side of the frame, and "SAMott BSF" on the back strap. The Army & Navy Co-operative Society was a British officer's society/department store chain, which served as a dealer in firearms, both for sporting purposes and as military sidearms. While not verified, "BSF" may indicate the British Salonika Force, a British Field Army that saw action on the Macedonian Front during WWI; Mott has not been positively identified but may have been an officer with the unit. The barrel is numbered "7161", with "290" on the rear cylinder face. Fitted with a pair of checkered grips and a lanyard swivel.

Rating Definition:

Very good, with 40% of the original blue finish, showing areas of mixed brown and gray patina, mild pitting concentrated along the bright edges and grip straps, and scattered handling marks. The back strap inscription is a bit faded but still readable. The heavily worn grips are fair, with some notches cut into the butt, flat spots and mild dents. Mechanically fine.
