This is a nice example of a mid-WWI German Army issue Luger pistol. The top of the chamber area is dated "1916", and the toggle is marked "DWM". The right side of the barrel extension has the three "crown/Gothic letter" proofs next to the Imperial Eagle proof. The full serial number is correctly stamped in the military fashion on the underside of the barrel the left side of the barrel extension and the front of the frame with the last two digits "08" stamped on the various small parts. The Imperial Eagle proof is also marked on the top, rear of the barrel and left side of the breechblock. The upper safety position and extractor are correctly marked "GESICHERT" and "GELADEN". Fixed sights. The back strap has the stock lug. The magazine has an unnumbered wooden base.
