Description:

This is an excellent example of a late WWI Imperial German Luger that was manufactured in "1918",. This pistol has the correct factory rust blued finish with straw colored small parts and checkered walnut grips. The top of the chamber area is dated 1918 and the front toggle is marked "DWM" for Deutsch Waffen und Munitionsfabriken. The right side of the barrel extension has three Crown/Script proofs next to the Imperial Eagle proof, which is also stamped on the top rear section of the barrel. The safety and extractor are correctly marked "GESICHERT" and "GELADEN", and it has the fixed front and notch rear sight with the stock lug on the back strap. The magazine is a correct nickel plate WWI version with a wood bottom base plate numbered "4964b/Imperial Proof".

Rating Definition:

Excellent with 97% plus of the rust blued finish overall with minor holster wear and blue loss on the edges and high spots. 90% original straw colors remain. The grips are in excellent condition with nice sharp checkering on both sides, with some very minor wear across some of the checkering and edges of the grips. The Luger has all matching numbers except the magazine as noted above. An excellent example of late WWI 1918 dated Imperial German Luger pistol.
