This is an attractive example of a desirable 1923 Commercial Luger. These Model 1923 Lugers fall into a specific serial number block that ranged from approximately 73,000 to 96,000 with this one falling within serial number block. These were usually made from newly manufactured parts that were for sale both inside Europe and the United States. The top of the chamber area is blank, and it has the standard DWM logo on the front toggle. The barrel extension, underside of the barrel and left side of the breechblock have only a single "Crown/N" commercial proofmark. The front of the frame is the only part that carries the full serial number (81572) with the remaining visible numbers matching. It has the standard inverted "V" front sight and the standard notch cut rear sight. These pistols have a rust blued metal finish with the straw colored small parts, and standard checkered walnut grips. It is complete with one nickel plated magazine with a correct unmarked wooden base.
