This is a fine example of a WWI 1896 Mauser Broomhandle pistol complete with the combination walnut shoulder stock/holster. The chamber has the standard markings "WAFFENFABRIK/MAUSER/OBERNDORF A/N.". The barrel/chamber area and breech bolt are both stamped with the standard "crown/U" commercial firing proof, and the small "crown/script letter" Imperial acceptance proof on the right side of the barrel extension. The underside of the barrel has a small star and various letter acceptance proofs. The right side is marked: "WAFFENFABRIK MAUSER/OBERNDORF A NECKAR". The pistol has the standard inverted "v" front sight and tangent adjustable rear sight graduated from 50-500 meters. The grips have the large number "9" burned into both sides and filled with red paint. It has the military style rough blued metal finish with a heat blued finish on the small components. It is complete with a non-matching WWI combination shoulder stock/holster, a reproduction leather carrier and three Chinese marked stripper clips. The attaching iron is numbered "059".
