Manufactured in 1898. Square base pinned front sight, folding ladder rear sight. Standard barrel markings, the upper tang is marked with the three-line model/maker/1894 patent date and the serial number is marked on the bottom of the receiver. Saddle ring and stud on the left side of the receiver, and mounted with a smooth walnut forearm and straight grip stock with a carbine buttplate.

Very good with strong traces of original blue finish remaining in the protected areas and a smooth mottled brown and silver patina on the balance. The wood is about good with numerous minor dents, dings and scratches and a sliver absent in upper right wrist at frame juncture. The markings are clear. The action is fine.
