Palmer Hoyt was the publisher of the Denver Post from 1946 until his retirement in 1971 and is credited with ending the paper's stint of "yellow journalism" and moving it back towards objective reporting, which he always stressed, along with the importance of free speech. It is likely that this rifle was presented to him in 1970 upon announcement of his imminent retirement. Includes styrofoam box with factory label hand numbered to gun.

Rating Definition:

Excellent overall, retains 99% plus original finishes with a few light handling marks on the stock. Mechanically excellent.
