Manufactured from 1912 to 1935, this Type III/Model 4 is marked "REMINGTON ARMS - - U.M.C. CO. ILION, N.Y." The bottom of the barrels and left side of the grip frame have matching serial numbers. It has standard notch and groove sights and checkered hard rubber grips. Also includes a red box with Remington-UMC Double Derringer label and bore brush. The inside of the lid has been numbered to the gun in blue ink.
Very fine with 85% plus original blue finish fading to smooth brown in some areas and minor marks and scratches. The grips are very good and have a few minor nicks and scrapes in the otherwise crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The box is good and has part of the label replaced with a non-professionally executed hand-marked section, a section repaired on one side, and mild scratches and general storage wear.
